westborophelpsOnce again, the crazy attention whores at Westboro Baptist Church are threatening to do more than just picket funerals. On their website, godhatesfags.com, this morning was the following message:

“WBC has suffered unrelieved reproach for warning you. Now, we will happily assist in the administration of the universal outpouring of God’s wrath, which shall imminently commence with the brightness of His coming.”

I have been dropping in at the WBC website more often lately, just to see how successful the alleged “online offensive” against them by hacktivists, including the force known as “Anonymous”, has been in taking the site down.  So far, it seems to be a not-very-successful venture.  I’m not sure whether that speaks more for the waning interest of Anonymous, or for the online technical savvy of the Phelps klan. What I have noticed is that the home page is frequently updated and modified by someone, and I don’t think it’s Anonymous.

As I have reported before, WBC occasionally posts these bits of fiery self-indignation that have prompted me and others to consider the possibility that they are not an immutable force, and that their reaction to recent public condemnation just might take the form of some sort of self-immolation. I have long suspected that their leader, Fred Phelps, has a secret death wish.

If that were to ever happen, messages like the one above will then have to be read as prophetic.

SAME-SEX MARRIAGE IS THE DOOM
OF THIS EVIL NATION

“And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all. Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.” (Luke 17:26-30)

WBC has suffered unrelieved reproach for warning you. Now, we will happily assist in the administration of the universal outpouring of God’s wrath, which shall imminently commence with the brightness of His coming.

“And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?” (Rev. 6:15-17)
